Wouldn't it be great if you could manage healthcare appointments, order repeat prescriptions and monitor your health all from an app on your phone? Well now you can!
People throughout Nottingham and Nottinghamshire can simply and securely access a range of NHS services via the National NHS App on your smartphone, tablet device or computer.
The NHS App already allows you to see your vaccinations status, order repeat prescriptions, manage GP appointments, get health information and advice, view your NHS Number and access your GP health record securely.
But that's not all, thanks to some extra technology added by NHS partners, Patients Know Best (PKB). People across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire who sign up to the service can get additional features that lets you manage your health and wellbeing wherever you are.
The new service, which is completely free, is special to patients in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
No more waiting for a receptionist to answer the phone. No more calling bang on 8.30 in the hope of getting an on-the-day appointment. You can book an appointment with your GP straight from the Notts NHS App.
What's more, with virtual consultations you can speak to a doctor from the comfort of your own home at a time that suits you. No more wasting time in the waiting room. No more rearranging work and childcare.
The Notts NHS App puts you in control. It makes life easier for your doctor, too.
Gone are the days of posting a slip of paper into a letterbox.* Online ordering puts you in control of your repeat prescriptions.
Which means one less thing to remember. And if you do forget, you can put in a request, day or night. Simply tap the Notts NHS App!
*You can still use a paper form if you wish.
This is a revolution in health and social care. It's what makes the Notts NHS App unique. You can see what your doctor sees and read what they've written (with some exceptions)*.
Plus, you can let loved ones and carers read your notes, and make your records available to emergency responders. You're in the know and in control with the Notts NHS App.
*Includes your GP record, certain test results, details of any allergies and current or previous medications.
Keep an eye on health conditions with connected devices like fitness trackers (e.g Fitbits) and glucometers.
You'll be able to record measurements like your blood sugar and share the information with doctors and nurses, all in the Notts NHS App.
Our symptom checker is backed up by NHS 111 Online, so you can feel confident you're getting the best advice. 111 Online can help if you have a medical problem and you're not sure what to do.*
*Always follow any medical advice you've already been given by your doctor. In an emergency call 999 for an ambulance.
